On November 20, we received notification that a Horizon North staff member working in Archie Camp near our Kakwa River Project had come into close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19. Upon notification and in partnership with Horizon North, all health and safety protocols as guided by public health authorities were followed:
In addition, until the individual’s test results were known, out of an abundance of caution we implemented the following further measures to ensure the health and safety of all guests onsite:
Within the first 24 hours of notification, Seven Generations (7G) procured expedited private testing for all Horizon North employees. In addition, Alberta Health Services (AHS) was immediately engaged and dispatched to complete additional testing on-site to confirm these results.
Protecting our people, their families and our community is our main priority. To ensure their safety, we’ve implemented further measures this evening including dispatching additional private testing units on-site for all 7G staff (employees and contractors) currently in camp. Well and plant production operations and scheduled field activity are not expected to be impacted due to existing cohorting practices in place.
We’d like to thank our staff, our service providers, our partners and the community for their support. We are working hard to keep everyone safe and will continue to work closely with AHS to mitigate any further risk or impacts.
